Although they are a bit busy in the morning, the service is pretty prompt. In my opinion, it's worth the wait. Then take a nice stroll through town. Enjoy!
Best breakfast in DeLand. Been there forever.
Good food, served hot and fresh. My husband declared their hand-cut french fries to be "the best french fries I've ever eaten!" We were told by the waitress that the cook hand cuts them fresh every morning. This restaurant is worth the visit if you're ever in downtown Deland. There are lots of antique shops nearby to visit too.
The food was great. The service was rather slow and neither server seemed very friendly
Too much grease. Plus nonstop Fox News is not my cup of tea. Good service thoug.
Slow service but very busy. Very friendly as many there that were known by staff. Great fries. Try the malt vinegar with them as the best malt vinegar I have ever tasted. Both got fish n fries. Fish was swai n too mushy for me but hubby liked. Great prices with large servings
Great downtown restaurant!
My wife and I were looking for a mom and pop place for breakfast and found this spot. Definitely glad we gave it a try. We will be coming back!!
Great family-run local diner. Good food. Generous portions. Inexpensive. Friendly servers. Quick service. Cozy atmosphere. Definitely THE place for breakfast in downtown Deland!
The food is so good fresh. The people are so nice and generous.
Picked up a quick breakfast and brought back to the local record shop and it was great. Eggs, ham and home fries were just right. Great job guys!
Great food great staff
Good homey breakfast. Nice staff. Food is definitely diner style and old fashion. Delicious.
Nice quaint place, good food.
Awesome eggs benedict and biscuits and gravy.
Always a great meal. The servers are the best in DeLand.
Awesome!! Great food, people and prices. Go now and enjoy!!
In the middle of a pandemic, while FL’s Covid numbers are rising, not a single waitress or worker in site was wearing a mask. Not one. I was so uncomfortable that I wanted to leave but my company insisted on staying.
Fabulous service, amazing food. You can't ask for anything more
Good food. Ok price Mahi SandwichA little pricey to sub Cole slaw for chips. Good servers
Good service, our server was very patient with our party of six. Most of us had a weird order (I got the veggie omelette without tomatoes and a side of chocolate chip pancakes), and each order was correct. My omelette had fresh veggies and real eggs (I was half expecting canned mushrooms and powder eggs- IHOP has instilled this expectation in me). Pancakes were good too; thick and not too sweet. Perfect hot meal after a cold night camping. Probably worth five stars as far as diners go, but took off a star because the interior is dimly lit and aged.
Awesome food , Great service , and never knew it was there ..Best fries anywhere
Lovely little diner since 1949. I had a fantastic Spinach and Swiss Omelet. The Queen Bee had Eggs Benedict and said it was great. The waitress was very nice and served us outside on the sidewalk. I highly recommend Hunter's for breakfast. I'll be back for lunch soon.
Good size & very tasty at a very reasonable price. They were very busy but the friendly wait staff kept up.I'll definately eat here again.
Great food and very nice people! Long Time family owned.
It was a great little spot to have breakfast. Enjoyed it a lot.
Small, quiet cozy environment, with televisions on mute or low to allow for good conversation and enjoyment of the menu. Ordered an everything omelet w/ two additional eggs, which was delicious and cooked to order. I can see why they have been open for as long as they have: they're excellent at what they do and they know it. A must-have for anyone wanting a hearty breakfast alone or with friends/family!
Friendly service and good food.
Nice location. Good homestyle food. Friendly service. No wait.
Very good food and friendly wait staff. Prices were reasonable.
Hubby and I stopped in for lunch yesterday and it was packed. Server acknowledged us and said she would be right with us. Seeing as how she and one other server were running taking care of everyone I knew patience would be needed. We placed our food order and waited over 45 minutes. I was about to cancel and just pay for our drinks when we received our meals. The food was the best. I ordered California burger and fries. Excellent. Hubby ordered Eggs Benedict which I swear it’s why it took so long to get our meals. Worth going to again but it was the lunch hour and I just think they were slammed. Next time 2pm lunch.
Very good food and service, It was very full when we walked in, and the waitress we got was also doing a very large table. I thought we were going to get ignored, but she did a great job. Food came fast was delicious and she kept checking on us. Nice atmosphere plenty of friendly people.
The service & food was GREAT while a parade was in motion I will definitely return & DEFINITELY WILL BE Recommending
Hunter's has been in business in Deland, FL for over seventy years. It is a local family business. It is a good restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The servings are abundant and the food is good home style cooking. The servers are friendly and welcoming to make their guests feel right at home. I highly recommend having breakfast there. The portions are enough to keep you full until dinner time.
Ahhh! I got a cheeseburger and fries this morning for breakfast because, after 68 years of serving Deland, this place serves the most awesome old fashioned cheeseburger for miles around! The fries are also fresh cut - none of that frozen junk from a restaurant supply house. Burgers just like from the ‘50s and ‘60s. I can also testify to their eggs Benedict! Their sausage biscuits and gravy. Their chefs salad. Hunters is a staple of Deland and we love it. Enjoy your visit and tip your waitress.
Good menu, good service, great prices, and the food was delicious
Standard mom n pop breakfast diner with family history. Friendly people. Quick service. Many options. Tasty. A good local option for a quick breakfast.
Perfect omelette (Flat not fluffy so you can taste the contents) and Red potato home fries. Love that I could add onions and jalapeños to my home fries. Mate got a kickass burger with shoestring fries done to perfection. Burger was oversized with beefy taste.. Nice!!!
Service was excellent! Great food, definitely worth the stop!
I had a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, hamburger steak, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. Casual atmosphere and friendly service. I will definitely eat here again next time I visit Deland.
Extremely disappointing! Service was sub par but the food was absolutely horrible. The Benedict was utterly flavorless, except for a hint of expiration. Tasted like the hollandaise came from a can, if that's even possible, with no salt or lemon anywhere in sight. The hash browns were 75 percent water and loaded with canned additions. If you're going to pay for food, do yourself the favor and look elsewhere.
Hometown breakfast restaurant. It's about what you'd expect from that description. Lovely staff, great food, homey environment.
Love their grits and scrambled eggs..fast service too.
SPAM! I love Spam!
It is great to checkout old family run restaurants. This place has that old dinner vibe and menu. There are some great southern food choices such as grits. I ordered a simple breakfast of bacon, overeasy eggs, and hash browns. The eggs were absolutely perfect. The hash browns had a great crust, but the bacon was not crisp. Initial service was a little slow, but once they got to me, the food order came quickly and my coffee cup stayed full. The biggest draw are the prices. Everything I ordered and it was all less than $10.
I ordered a burger and fries. The food was good but the amount of time it took to cook it was ridiculous. It's a simple burger and fries, people, and it's right around 12:30. It should NOT have taken that long to get lunch.
Long time local dive serving up fresh cut fries and tasty burgers... just don't chat with the crazy owner named Kenny ..... he is loony ;)
We were there on a Saturday lunch time. They were slammed. It was an interesting mix of locals and we tourists. As far as I could tell, we were all treated with kindness and equal attention. The food was so good. Being "now " made NOT pre-made or fast food-we were served in the order in which the orders made. A great diner!
Great dinner food and service..
Great restaurant with friendly staff and great food. Had the white chocolate macadamia pancake.Yum!
